The Swipe - designed to be the most effective string cleaner

Frequenty Asked Questions

Q: What does it do
A: It removes corrosive sweat and grime from the surface and underneath of strings on all stringed instruments, prolonging string life, clarity, tone and also the life of the fret board and fret wires. It is the only product of its kind to get to the underneath of the strings without the need for slackening or string removal.

Q: How do I use it?
A: Take the flat part of the Swipe in your hand and Swipe the curved end under the strings up and down the entire length of the neck, paying particular attention to the areas most heavily played...usually the 'Nut' end. For the surface of the strings, use the flat part of the Swipe over all the strings at the same time, again Swiping up and down the neck. Use the cleaning cloth supplied to clean the back of the neck and the body of the instrument, or anywhere else required.

Q: Does it contain chemicals?
A: No! It is totally chemical free (Unlike most other products of its kind) and can be used on instruments with the finest and most delicate of finishes.

Q: What is it made of?
A: It is made of a very dense, hard wearing and yet very soft (will not scratch or mark any finish) man-made micro-fibre, 16 times denser than silk!

Q How long does it last?
A: If used literally every day, it will last about 4 months

Q: Can I use it on my Cello?
A: It can be used (with great effect) on ANY instrument that uses strings containing any form of metal. For example, it gets used on violins etc. for the removal of excess rosin

Q: Can it be washed?
A: No- but grime can be removed using a fingernail or a small dry brush.

Q: Why is it better than any of the other string cleaning products on the market?
A: It is chemical free, it is the only product to get to the underneath of the strings, it last longer than most other types, it leaves no fluff or residue, it is quick and simple to use, it takes up very little space in an instrument case

Q: Why can't I just buy new strings?
A: You can. The Swipe is now just £4.99. New strings for (lets say) a quality guitar are at least £10. The Swipe makes strings last 3-4 times longer, as well as adding considerable life to the fret wires and fret board. You do the maths!

Q: How do I know when my Swipe needs replacing?
A: When the Swipe gets shiny, the fabric in the curve is worn out, or when it gets very gunky
